Chef Zane Holmquist to Cook for TODAY'S Christmas Show

December 22 2015

PARK CITY, Utah (December 22, 2015) – Stein Eriksen Lodge's decorated executive chef, Zane Holmquist, will be a cooking guest for TODAY's Christmas morning show. This marks the fourth consecutive year Holmquist has been invited to appear on the national morning show to demonstrate renowned menu items available for guests at the World's Best Ski Hotel.

During this year's in-studio segment airing Christmas day, Holmquist will showcase four festive, signature holiday drinks from Stein Eriksen Lodge's acclaimed Glitretind restaurant: a Sparkling Pear Tree Champagne, a Turtle Hot Chocolate Float, a Hot Lemon Toddy and a hot White Chocolate Delight.

“I have loved every opportunity I've had to be a guest on TODAY,” said Holmquist. “It's such an honor to be welcomed back each year and a great experience to share a portion of Stein Eriksen Lodge with millions of viewers.”

As executive chef, Holmquist consistently leads Stein Eriksen Lodge's talented food and beverage to award-winning heights. Helping the lodge's Glitretind restaurant earn the coveted Forbes Four Star award, Holmquist displays his culinary versatility through a variety of succulent dishes, with an emphasis on local sourcing and organic products. Holmquist has been invited to showcase his fare at the renowned James Beard House and his Glitretind restaurant has received the coveted Santé Restaurant award, AAA Four Diamond award, Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, DiRONA award and Zagat Exceptional Rating.

The chef's passion for food extends to his enthusiasm for community involvement. Holmquist is a partner with Chef's Garden in their Veggie U program, an organization committed to fostering a synergy between educational, nutritional and agricultural goals to combat the rising epidemic of childhood obesity. Veggie U is dedicated to the creation and distribution of curricula nationally, with a focus on making wise food choices, combating adolescent and juvenile disease and attaining an understanding of sustainable agriculture. Holmquist is also a participant in the annual Taste of the Nation, a culinary event to support the fight to end hunger.
