April 29 2016

Salt Lake City - Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic Airways have announced new, nonstop service from Salt Lake City International (SLC) to London Heathrow Airport, beginning May 1, 2016. Salt Lake City will be Delta’s eighth U.S. destination from Heathrow and the only nonstop service between London and the Intermountain West. The new route will be seasonal and offered daily until October, 2016.

The airline will continue daily flights from SLC to Paris, France as well as its seasonal, daily flight to Amsterdam, Netherlands. "For the second summer in a row, Delta will be launching new routes that give customers more options when flying between the United States and the U.K.," said Nat Pieper, Delta's Senior Vice President – Europe, Middle East and Africa. "Delta and Virgin Atlantic are committed to offering an extensive network on the trans-Atlantic, and our new flights from London will offer more connections to destinations throughout the U.S. and beyond."

“Salt Lake City International is proud to be the gateway to the West,” said SLC Airport Director Maureen Riley. “We are thrilled to offer service from Salt Lake City to London and look forward to connecting passengers between our great cities.” Salt Lake City is the country’s fourth largest hub for Delta Air Lines. Delta is a strong supporter of Salt Lake City’s terminal redevelopment program, which will replace all existing airport facilities in the next eight to ten years.
