JAMES BEARD ‘CELEBRITY CHEF TOUR’ RETURNS

PARK CITY, Utah (July 12, 2016) —The James Beard Foundation’s “Celebrity Chef Tour” returns to Riverhorse on Main September 24th, featuring Riverhorse on Main Chef Seth Adams and other world-renown chefs – including a Top Chef fan favorite – who will be whipping up a star-studded meal you won’t want to miss.

 

Confirmed featured chefs include: Seth Adams, co-owner and executive chef for Riverhorse on Main, Bernard Guillas, executive chef of La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club,  Tiffany Derry, chef and a frequent television personality, Jodie Rogers, director of food & beverage for Deer Valley Resort, Charlie Perry, owner of Eva’s and Eva’s Bakery and Robert Valaika, co-owner and executive chef of Shabu.

Seth Adams has been at the helm of Riverhorse since 2004, and has transformed the restaurant into the trendy, urban setting it is today. 

 

Adams keeps guests happy with a mix of creative and expressive dishes, which use flavors reflecting the season and his own inspiration, and long-standing, crowd-pleasing favorites, such as Macadamia Nut-Crusted Halibut and the Trio of Wild Game: buffalo, venison and elk. 

 

Bernard Guillas insists “a good cook is a sorcerer who dispenses happiness on a plate.” As executive chef of the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club since 1994, he runs the resort’s three raved-about restaurants, including the Shores Restaurant at La Jolla Shores Hotel and the AAA Four Diamond-rated Marine Room restaurant. His food blends classic cuisine with a love for Pan Pacific flavors, blending Guillas’ upbringing in Brittany, France, with his culinary experiences in French Guyana, Washington, D.C., and San Diego. 

 

Guillas has appeared on The Today Show, been featured in Food Magazine, and penned an award-winning cookbook, “Flying Pans.” 

 

Derry made it to the final four of Season 7 of Bravo’s Top Chef – earning the title of “fan favorite” as voted by viewers along the way – and she was a finalist in Top Chef: All Stars. A native of Beaumont, Texas, she started her career at the local IHOP, where she became the chain’s youngest manager at age 17, and went on to esteemed kitchens throughout Texas, including Pesce, Grotto Cucina Napolitano and Go Fish Ocean Club. 

 

Tiffany Derry founded the award-winning Private|Social in Dallas in 2011, and launched her own venture, Tiffany Derry Concepts, in 2013. She is a spokeswoman for the Art Institute’s Culinary Arts Program and a member of Les Dames d’Escoffier. 

 

Jodie Rogers recently took the helm of Director of Food and Beverage for world-renowned Deer Valley Resort.  Rogers oversees a total 11 restaurants at the Resort.  Rogers, a native to Australia boasts a 20-year cooking career that includes stints I several hotels in Sydney, Australia and working as head chef at Australia’s Charlotte Pass Resort.  She has been with the Resort since 1995.

 

Charlie Perry’s career began in 1999 in San Francisco and in 2008 returned to Utah to pursue his dream of opening a small plates restaurant in Salt Lake City.  Named after his great grandmother, Eva’s and Eva’s Bakery are award-winning staples of the Salt Lake restaurant community specializing in seasonal, quality ingredients, combining innovative ideas and traditional techniques.

 

For the past 20 years, Shabu Chef Robert Valaika has been immersed in and committed to developing his own style of Asian Fusion cuisine.  Described most often as “freestyle Asian cuisine,” the food Robert creates at Shabu is light, healthy and full of flavor.

Launched in 2004, the Celebrity Chef Tour brings the experience of dining at New York City's historic James Beard House to cities around the country. At each Celebrity Chef Tour dinner, top chefs create fantastic multi-course dinners, each paired with premium wines or authentic Belgian beers.
