Snowbasin Resort Brings a new Dinosaur-Themed Burton Riglet Park to their Learning Center - December 18, 2013

December 18 2013

Snowbasin, UT. (Dec.17, 2013) Snowbasin Resort, together with Burton Snowboards, will be celebrating the grand opening of the Burton Dinosaur Riglet Park, a new youth-focused snowboard learning park on December 20th, 2013. The park was designed specifically for children as young as three-years-old to learn how to snowboard and is located next to Snowbasin Resort’s Snowsports Learning Center. Presenting exciting features themed around Utah’s vast dinosaur history, kids will have the chance to learn balance, weight transfer, edging and freestyle basics by maneuvering over, under, and around sculpted terrain of lava and mountains with “Dino” the Dinosaur and “Terry” the Triceratops.

The grand opening event will run from 9:00am to noon in front of the Snowsports Learning Center at the Grizzly Center. Utah’s Natural History Museum will be on board offering some fun-filled facts and authentic dinosaur bones for children to look at and touch. Snowbasin Resort’s highly trained instructors will also be on site to provide additional information about the Riglet program for the 2013-14 season as well as guiding children through the park.

“We were very excited when Burton approached us to build a themed Riglet Park. We looked at several other Burton Riglet Parks in and outside of the US and really wanted to create a unique atmosphere that reflects Utah’s roots. With children’s love for dinosaurs and Utah’s extensive history we thought the theme was a natural fit,” said Jason Dyer, PR & Marketing Manager, Snowbasin Resort. “I can’t wait for my daughters on opening day to have the chance to learn how to snowboard while getting to know more about the history of dinosaurs in Utah!”

"The dinosaur-themed Burton Riglet Park completely embodies the idea of creating an environment focused on fun and play to teach the youngest of kids to snowboard,” said Jeff Boliba, Burton’s VP of Global Resorts.

Snowbasin Resort offers an array of Burton Riglet Snowboarding packages for ages three to six years old. Whether your child wants to come for one hour or a full day, Snowbasin Resort has a Riglet package suited for them. Some packages include rentals and snacks but all packages include a great snowboarding learning adventure back though time.
