Snowbird Reaches 300 Inches of Snowfall During First 46 Days of Operation

Snpwbird, UT (January 14, 2020) — As of January 14 at 2:15 p.m. Snowbird has recorded 300 inches of year-to-date snowfall, and a mid-mountain base depth of 106 inches. Snowbird, during an average season, receives 500 inches of snow.

“Considering our two snowiest months are ahead of us, it’s amazing to have already received 60 percent of our average snowfall,” said Dave Fields, Snowbird President and General Manager. “The skiing has been incredible and so has the effort of our team of employees here at Snowbird who have been working day and night to deliver it for our guests.”

Guests driving to Snowbird are encouraged to arrive in properly-equipped vehicles for winter driving conditions. Four-wheel-drive vehicles with dedicated snow tires are highly recommended for travel in Little Cottonwood Canyon. Please obey all traffic warnings and posted signs from the Utah Department of Transportation. Alternative means to driving include the use of the Snowbird R.I.D.E. app, which facilitates carpool caravans to the resort, or electing to ride a UTA ski bus to and from Snowbird. Snowbird season passholders and IKON passholders enjoy free access to dedicated UTA ski bus routes.
