SNOWBIRD TO HOST 5TH ANNUAL ADVENTURE+GEAR FEST

PARK CITY, Utah (June 2017) — The Adventure+Gear Fest, Utah’s largest adventure festival and outdoor gear sale, welcomes outdoor lovers to Snowbird to experience over 25 activities and events including the Wasatch Mountain Film Festival, Maverik Adventure Vehicle Camp, Gear Village with more than 100 outdoor gear vendors, live music, yoga, mountain bike and trail shoe demos, free activities for kids and more. 

This year’s festival is free and open to the public, and takes place Friday, June 23, from Noon to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  

“We’re excited to partner with Snowbird for this year’s Adventure+Gear Fest, a mountain mecca for outdoor summer adventure,” said Landon John, co-producer of the event. “Whether it’s trying out the latest mountain biking gear, taking on a physical challenge with an adventure race, trail run or canyon climb, catching a family-friendly outdoor film, or meeting vendors across a variety of outdoor activities, guests can really make the experience of a beautiful weekend in the mountains their own.”  

Adventure+Gear Fest features gear vendors, clinics, and more for adventurers of the road, mountains, water and snow. Road cycling enthusiasts can join the 39th Annual Snowbird Bicycle Hill Climb, a 10-mile race with 3,500 feet of vertical gain, before descending on Adventure+Gear Fest’s abundance of free booths and activities. Runners can participate in the Sports-Am free Run the Evening Bird 5K Trail Run while mountain bikers of all ages can take to the trails for the Saturday morning Midweek Mashup Mountain Bike Race. 

In its third year showcasing the world’s best outdoor adventure filmmakers, the Wasatch Mountain Film Festival will have eight screening blocks at Snowbird during Adventure+Gear Fest. Individual screening block tickets cost $10, or filmgoers can purchase a full festival pass for $50. New this year is the Virtual Attendee pass for $15 that includes an exclusive online screening featuring select films from the festival. Other events include the Adventure Week quest powered by Cotopaxi a week long team adventure race, Voodoo Slackline Experience, Tenkara fly fishing demos, mountain bike clinics, climbing wall, disc golf course, adventure vehicles, hiking and backpacking clinics, and $10,000 worth of contest prizes and giveaways.
