Sprint to Marathon: Ogden Marathon Registration Opens October 2

Ogden, Utah(September 29, 2017) Online registration to Utah’s largest single-day running event, the Zion’s Bank Ogden Marathon presented by the GOAL Foundation, will open on Monday, October 2 at 7:00 am MST. The 2018 marathon will take place on Saturday, May 19, starting in the breathtaking Wasatch Mountains and ending in downtown Ogden. Runners can register at www.ogdenmarathon.com.

 

“In 2018, we will celebrate 18 years of a community event that is not only about runner’s personal bests, but also the spirit, strength, and health of our community,” said Jenny Scothern, Executive Director of the GOAL Foundation. “The Ogden Marathon is the ideal race for beginners, intermediate, and advance runners, and those looking to qualify for the Boston Marathon.”

 

Early bird prices are $89.00 for the full marathon, $79.00 for the half marathon, $250.00 for the team relay, $40.00 for the 5K and $10.00 for the kids k. Prices will go up on November 1, 2017. New for 2018, the two premier marathons in Utah, the Ogden Full Marathon and the St. George Full Marathon, will partner and offer a double medal – Red Rocks and Mountain Tops.  Participants who complete both races will receive a double medal commemorating participating in two world-class full marathons in the state of Utah.   

 

Additionally, the Ogden Marathon is partnering with Another Mother Runner, who will be providing training and nutrition advice to racers. Another Mother Runner is a small company managed by mothers for mothers to help empower women through running. Their training and nutrition programs include a training plan, recommendations on gear, weekly Q&A sessions and meal plans that will help racers to the finish line feeling strong and supported.

 

"I have very fond memories of running the Ogden Half-Marathon in 2011--such a gorgeous course and incredibly well-organized race,” said Sarah Bowen Shea, co-founder of Another Mother Runner and host of Another Mother Runner weekly podcast. “We are excited to share the beauty of the course plus the charm of Ogden with the Mother Runner community via the race and our Retreat."
