Snowbird, Utah – Summer at Snowbird is better than ever with new attractions for high-alpine fun in Utah’s mountains. Snowbird’s summer kicks off on June 9, 2018 with the annual Brewfest Weekend and the opening of the new attraction - the Woodward WreckTangle, an outdoor ninja obstacle challenge for both kids and adults. In late June 2018, a new Summer Tubing hill will also be added to Snowbird’s recreation lineup. The fun continues with the free summer movie and concert series as well as all the beloved Summer Activities that Utah families enjoy each summer at Snowbird.
“We are thrilled to have the Woodward WreckTangle at Snowbird for the thrill-seekers who want to test themselves,” says Dave Fields, Snowbird’s General Manager. “Our schedule of events and activities – from festivals to competitions to free movies and concerts – our lineup has never been stronger.”
It just wouldn’t be summer without an afternoon on the Plaza Deck, soaking up the sun and sampling a wide range of local, regional and national craft beers. The 10th Annual Brewfest Weekend runs June 9 and 10 from noon to 6 p.m. More than 30 breweries will be represented at the event along with live music and food.
Snowbird’s newest summer attraction, the Woodward WreckTangle , located at the Pond Lot, is an outdoor ninja obstacle challenge built for kids and adults. Inside the Woodward WreckTangle, you’ll face 10 unique and fun-filled obstacles. Compete with your friends to make it through. Use skill, strength, creativity and determination to complete the balance beams, rope swings, half pipe and more.
Who says you need snow to slide downhill at Snowbird? Now, sliding down the mountain is a year-round activity with the new Summer Tubing hill located just outside the entrance to The Cliff Lodge. Supported by a conveyor to circulate riders back up the top, Summer Tubing, is a wild ride down a sheet of “ Neverplast ,” a slippery material that turns tubing into summer fun.
Summertime and the living is easy at Snowbird. Starting June 16 and counting through Aug. 11, 2018 the Cool Air and Sunday SessionsConcert Series invite guests to enjoy music in the mountains. Admission is always free.
The Family Flicks movie series starts up on June 22 and runs through Aug. 10, 2018. Free movies are screened every Friday on the Snowbird Center Plaza Deck at dusk (approx. 30 minutes after sunset). Lawn chairs and coolers are welcome. The Birdfeeder will be open, selling popcorn, cotton candy and more.
