Utah Ski Resorts Stack Up Feet of Snow over the Weekend

November 9 2020

SALT LAKE CITY (November 9, 2020) — As Utah ski resorts count down their opening days in the coming weeks, all eyes have been on the mountains, waiting for that first big storm. Winter returned to the Wasatch mountains in full force this weekend, bringing over 30" of snow to some ski resorts in the state.

Over the weekend and into Monday, Utah ski resorts saw consistent snowfall and winter fanatics rejoiced, ready to welcome ski season back to Utah after a longer than usual off-season when Covid-19 forced early resort closures across Utah in March 2020. Utah ski areas are scheduled to begin opening on November 20, 2020.

Ski areas across the state posted several images of deep powder and heavy snowfall on social media, igniting a rush of excitement throughout the community. “Our first big storm is always a sight for sore eyes,” says Anelise Bergin, director of digital marketing and communications at Ski Utah. "We are more ready than ever to get back to doing what we love." While this winter may look different with updated operations to accommodate for an unusual ski season amidst the coronavirus pandemic, one thing will always remain the same — skiing and riding The Greatest Snow on Earth®.
