SALT LAKE CITY (September 11, 2019) – As temperatures drop and ski resorts prepare for another season, the skiers and snowboarders of Utah have been anxiously awaiting the first snow. On Wednesday, September 11, winter fanatics rejoiced as many of Utah’s higher elevation resorts saw their first snow of the season.
Ski areas in Big Cottonwood and Little Cottonwood canyons, including Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, and Solitude posted several images of the newly dusted mountains on social media, igniting a rush of excitement throughout the community. “Seeing the first snow on our mountains is always an exciting time of year,” says Anelise Bergin, director of communications at Ski Utah. “With season passes on sale, ski premieres showing around town, and ski swaps full of great deals on gear, winter is certainly in the air, and we are ready to get back on the slopes.”
