Comments: Good Morning, This is Christina with the Mountain Report for Friday, March 31, 2023. March may be wrapping up but this storm is still going strong. We received 16 inches of fresh snow overnight and it’s still coming down. The forecast today calls for snow showers with a high near 24 and wind chill values as low as -1. It will be breezy with a west wind about 17 - 22 mph and gusts up to 34 mph. We could pick up another 6 - 10 inches throughout the day. Upgrade your pass with Fast Tracks and get access to express lift lanes and deep powder. With 34 inches of fresh snow in the last 48 hours, we can expect to see some delays this morning. Thank you to our Friends of Hidden Peak (Snowbird Ski Patrol) for all their hard work in prepping the mountain and keeping us safe! We have live music on the books for today, so hopefully mother nature will cooperate. Plazapalooza, Snowbird’s spring concert series, will have Lapdog performing from 2 - 5 pm on the plaza deck and the Tram Club* will host Lake Effect from 3:30 - 6:30. We have a fun-filled day plan so grab some layers, your best party hat and come join us for deep snow and groovy tunes. Hope to see you out there!

Comments: We picked up 20 inches of snow in the last 24 hours, including 17 inches overnight, making for incredible conditions on the mountain today but also some challenges. Big Cottonwood Canyon is currently closed with an expected opening at 11:00 a.m. this morning due to avalanche mitigation. We will not be loading lifts until after the canyon opens and our personnel are in place. We will start by running Moonbeam, Link, and Apex lifts, with additional lifts and terrain opening as the day progresses. We expect snow to continue to fall today with temperatures in the upper teens and low 20s. Please take caution on the roads today and respect all traction laws. Today's Spring Fling event at the Solitude Nordic & Showshoe Center has been canceled due to weather and road conditions.

Comments: We’re breaking records left and right - with a fresh 16 inches overnight, March just became the snowiest month on record! Our previous record was 191 inches in December 1983, but our overnight total put us at 198 inches this month and forecasts call for snow through the rest of the day! There is a 100% chance of precipitation today with accumulation between 3 and 7 inches; how much do you think we’ll receive in total?! The high for the day is 33° with some noticeable westerly winds blowing between 15 and 20 mph, and possible gusts up to 30 mph.

Comments: On the mountain, we have 37 lifts, 332 trails, 138 trails groomed, 11 Bowls, and 7 terrain parks with 63 features and 12 jumps open. Our Groomer's picks of the day are Sampson & Willy's at Mountain Village and Gold Finger & Kestral at Canyons Village. Surface conditions are powder and machine groomed.
