Discover Winter
Discover Winter is back for the third season.
Ski Utah, in concert with its partner resorts, is committed to making skiing and snowboarding more inclusive. Through its Discover Winter program, Ski Utah aims to foster a life-long love of skiing and snowboarding amongst Utah's ethnically diverse community.
What is Discover Winter and who can apply? Any person of color is welcome to apply for this program. The program's goal is to have the state of Utah be more inclusive and welcoming through winter snow sports. Participants of the program receive four ski or snowboard lessons at participating resorts* during the months of January and February:
*Alta Ski Area, Brighton Ski Resort, Deer Valley Resort, Snowbird, Snowbasin, Solitude Mountain Resort, Sundance Mountain Resort and Woodward Park City. In addition to the four complimentary ski or snowboard lessons, Ski Utah will provide ski and snowboard rental equipment and proper clothing for participants to stay warm as well as transportation to the resorts.
At the conclusion of the four lessons, participants will receive a Ski Utah Yeti Pass. This pass provides one day of skiing/snowboarding at each of Utah's 15 resorts allowing participants the opportunity to practice their newfound skills. It is Ski Utah's hope that participants will have discovered a lifelong love of skiing and snowboarding and will return to the slopes for years to come.
We are no longer accepting applications for the 2023–24 Discover Winter program. Check back in the fall to register for the 2024–25 season. |
Thanks to the generous funding from Morgan Stanley, the Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Foundation, Gregory Mountain Products, World Cup Supply, Delta Airlines, and others, Ski Utah is partnering with several organizations throughout the state of Utah to bring more diversity to the ski slopes.
