Park City Christmas Party

by Powderhound Matt December 26 2010 3 Comments

During the holidays, I'm often asked if I'm bothered by the fact that I can't return to Long Island for Christmas because of my job. Of course I'd love to see my family and friends and obviously I miss them a ton but that's where the annual Park City Christmas party comes into play.

Five years ago, skiing at Park City Mountain Resort on Christmas day, I happened to stumble across the Thaynes Christmas party.  Ever since that first party I haven't missed a single one. Well O.K., maybe we all missed the 2008 party due to hurricane force winds and about three feet of snow but other than that I wouldn't miss this party for the world.

The party seems to attract all sorts of folks. Old time Park City locals and tourists alike, you really don't know who is going to show up.  One thing you can be sure of, you're going to have a good time and you're probably going to make some new friends.  What more could you ask for on Christmas day?

This year my good friend Katie invited her family up to the party and I'm quite certain they had a blast. For myself and two friends who couldn't make it home this Christmas, fortunately we were adopted this year by the Wright family and scored invites to their Christmas dinner.  Thanks so much for the invite Mr. and Mrs. Wright the food was great!

I believe this year was the 25 annual party and trust me we couldn't have asked for a better day of weather. Hope to see you all there next year!  For all you powderhounds expecting to see another powder video, have no fear, I'm pretty sure they will make their return this Wednesday - Friday as we have cold storm on tap.  I'm pretty confident that the Greatest Snow on Earth will be returning to the state of Utah!  Stay tuned...
