The North Face Masters Big Mountain Snowboarding Tour Kicks Off at Snowbird

SNOWBIRD, UTAH – After receiving over 100 inches of snow in the last 10 days, Snowbird will host the first stop of the inaugural The North Face Masters big mountain snowboarding tour Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9-10, 2008. Professional athletes, along with up-and-coming snowboarders, will compete for a sizable chunk of the tour’s $45,000 cash purse along with airfare, lodging and entry to compete in the final stop of The North Face Masters tour in Alyeska, Alaska, April 2-6, 2008.

WHAT: The first stop of the inaugural The North Face Masters big mountain snowboarding tour, the only big mountain snowboarding tour in North America.

WHO: Amateur and professional snowboarders, including The North Face athlete and recent Freeride World Tour champion Ralph Backstrom, competing for a piece of the tour’s $45,000 cash purse on Snowbird’s big mountain terrain.

WHERE: West and North Baldy venues in Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort’s Peruvian Gulch. Spectators can purchase a three-ride Peruvian Express Chairlift ticket for $25. Take Little Cottonwood Canyon Road to Snowbird Entry 2.

WHEN: Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9-10, 2008. Competition begins at 9:15 a.m. daily.
