It’s a question I get asked a lot from people with young children. Where can my kids ski for free in Utah?
by Annie Davis
I am not exaggerating when I say I've been waiting for this ski season to come for eight years. I've put both my kids on skis since they were a year old, and now that my daughter is nine (turning ten mid-season) and in fourth grade, she's finally at the age where she can get a Ski Utah Passport.

Snowbasin Resort comments:
Good morning riders, happy Wednesday! After a long stretch without snowfall, we’re excited to finally see snow back in the forecast. Precipitation will begin as rain, possibly mixed with snow before 8 a.m., before turning to rain through the late morning and early afternoon. By after 2 p.m., conditions shift and snow becomes likely, with even a chance for some thunder mixed in. Temperatures will steadily fall throughout the day, reaching around 30 degrees by 5 p.m. Winds will be breezy out of the west at 13 to 17 mph, with strong gusts reaching up to 46 mph, helping usher in that true winter feel. The chance of precipitation sits at 80 percent, and while snowfall totals are expected to remain light—less than a half inch possible—it’s a welcome return to winter after a long dry spell. Adding to the excitement, Snowbasin’s 12 Days of Christmas deals are officially underway and offer the perfect excuse to head to the mountain. From Tuesday, December 16, through Thursday, December 18, enjoy 30 percent off All-Inclusive Lesson Packages, which include a lift ticket, lesson, and rentals, as well as 30 percent off Private Lessons. It’s a great time to celebrate the season and get back on the snow. Whether you’re getting back on snow for the first time this season or just happy to see flakes falling again, today marks a welcome shift toward winter. Keep an eye on changing conditions as the weather transitions through the afternoon, bundle up for the wind, and enjoy the return of snow—this is just the beginning of what we hope is a snowy stretch ahead. Drive safe, we will see you very soon!
