Snowbird comments:
Wake up! It’s Maeve with your daily snow report. After a pristine sleeper pow day, stoke is high at The Bird. Friday’s storm surge overproduced––we’re hoping today’s will do the same. The forecast is calling for 1 to 4 inches of snow starting in the late morning and falling into the early evening (3 to 5 inches predicted overnight), a high temperature of 33° and strong Southwest winds: 15-45 mph over the course of the day with peak ridgeline gusts around 55-70 mph. Predicted wind chill values could get as low as 5°, so pack some extra layers. There’s plenty of powder up here for anyone who’s still hungry; kick off the weekend with some Snowbird turns! Our season snowfall total is now at a healthy 90 inches. The 12th annual Highly Decorated event is running from 12-5 pm today! Highly Decorated honors active military, veterans and their families and raises visibility and support for the Wasatch Adaptive Sports (WAS) Veterans Program. The celebration includes a tree-lighting ceremony which is open to the public and starts on the Plaza Deck at 4:30 pm. Conditions permitting, Snowbird will be spinning 5 lifts with top-to-bottom skiing off the Tram today. Plan ahead; sign your lift waiver and upload your pass photo online before arriving at the mountain. Please remember that early season conditions exist, and unmarked hazards are present. We advise you to ski and ride with caution: slow down and stay in control. Check out Snowbird’s Early-Season page for information regarding tickets, lift and terrain updates. Driving SR-210? Make sure your car is winter-ready and compliant with UDOT traction law. Speaking of vehicles, get rewards for sharing yours! Download or update your Snowbird app to receive exclusive discounts and rewards when you carpool with friends or ride the UTA Ski Bus. All uphill travel is CLOSED for the season now that Snowbird is open for lift-service skiing and riding. See you on the slopes!
