The Alta community is kicking off a week of fun for skiers and lodge guests beginning with the annual Alta Gala on Friday, April 6 at La Caille. “Many skiers started skiing at Alta as kids, or in college on a ski trip, resulting in life-long connection with Alta,” said Alta Chamber and Visitors Bureau (ACVB) Coordinator Kylie North. “Reconnecting with old skiing friends and making new ones is the theme of this fun week of events during Alta in April.”
The Alta Gala event on Friday, April 6 is an annual fundraising event for three non-profits at Alta—Alta Community Enrichment, Alta Historical Society and Friends of Alta. Tickets for the event are $115 and can be obtained through altagala.org. On Saturday, skiers can try out new skis for next year through ski company reps at the Spring Demo Day (Wildcat Base). Family fun on Sunday centers around the traditional Easter egg hunt at the Albion Base, and an on-mountain Skier Scavenger Hunt. Friends will have opportunities to get together after skiing at four organized après ski events on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Strong self-confidence or good sense of humor is all you need to enter the stretch pant contest on Friday where prizes will be awarded. All events are open to the public. Après ski parties are no host bar events. A list of the events follows.
