Alta Ski Area Ranked #1 in Overall Satisfaction by SKI Magazine Readers

Alta Ski Area, Alta UT (October 20, 2011) – Alta Ski Area was named #1 for Overall Satisfaction and #1 for Character by SKI magazine readers in an announcement made at the 2nd Annual Resort Awards Gala Ski Magazine hosted in Boulder, Colorado on Saturday, October 15th. This is the 2nd year that Alta has been recognized as the leader in Overall Satisfaction. Alta’s General Manager, Onno Wieringa, comments, “We could not be more pleased to receive this accolade. Being recognized for our skiing experience by the readers is conversation I like to share with our employees and the larger Alta community.”

Alta was also awarded the distinction of Best Skiers Mountain and Best Snow. “These honors,” remarks Wieringa, “have more to do with our incredible terrain and the geographical advantages of where our mountain sits in the Wasatch. We try to do the best we can as a ski area to match our grooming, snow safety and lifts with the natural advantages we have.”  
More than 20,000 SKI readers are surveyed for its “Top 60 Resort Guide” by an independent research firm. SKI readers ski an average of 23 days a year. The ski resort survey is the most comprehensive and longest-running in the winter sports industry.
