Celebrate the Olympic Spirit Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Utah Olympic Oval

(Kearns, Utah) Saturday, June 30, 2012 has been officially proclaimed Olympic Day at the Utah Olympic Oval. From 11:00 am – 1:30 pm, a community event will be held at Utah Olympic Oval in participation with Salt Lake County Park and Recreation, Subway (4926 West 6200 South), Sports Med Utah and Body by Banks. Festivities will include Olympic and Paralympic athlete meet and greet, interactive dry-land sport fundamental clinics; Speedskating, Hockey, Curling, Track & Field and Figure Skating activities, PT testing by Sports Med Utah, an “Are You Olympic Fit” presentation by Michael Banks, free Subway sandwiches and FREE public skate admission after the celebration ($2.50 skate rental fee will be required)
At 11:00 a.m., Mayor Peter Corroon will kick off the event and welcome the crowd in celebrating the Olympic Movement by reading the official Olympic Day Proclamation demonstrating Kearn’s support in promoting and encouraging physical fitness and public participation in athletic activities, and to foster productive working relationships among sports related organizations.
