Community Fireworks & Concert Kicks Off A Week Of Events
July 2, 2012
PARK CITY, Utah (For Immediate Release) – A grander July 3rd Celebration is the first in a series of events next week to celebrate the most dynamic summer ever at Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah.
July’s first week also features the Farmers’ Market at the Cabriolet parking lot on Wednesday, July 4th, the Park City Food & Wine Classic and Lookout Cabin Wine Dinner on July 7th, plus daily adventures on Canyons’ all-new Zip Tour, Bike Park, hiking trails, alpine lake, disc golf course and putting course.
For the first time, Canyons’ annual July 3rd Celebration is a day-long celebration, with parking proceeds from the largest crowd of the summer benefiting People’s Health Clinic.
“Every year, thousands of people descend on Canyons for our great July 3rd Celebration,” said Mike Goar, Canyons’ managing director. “To try to preempt the large volume of traffic late in the day, we have lined up an entire afternoon of activities. We have also partnered with People’s Health Clinic volunteers to help us manage the traffic flow – and the result is they will receive all of the net proceeds from the parking lot. We encourage car pooling, bicycling and use of Park City’s free transportation system, but we find that it’s inevitable that people will drive to the resort.”
Morning-to-night activities on July 3rd begin when lifts start turning at 10 a.m. for hikers, mountain bikers and other mountain enthusiasts. At 3 p.m., the grassy area opens for guests in front of the Mountain stage at Ski Beach. Free family-oriented music and activities throughout the Resort Village will commence with a bicycle parade at 3:30 p.m. Lodging packages are still available at www.canyonsresort.com, and The Farm, Red Tail Grill, Umbrella Bar and Red Pine Café are all scheduled to be open (hours may vary).
