High West Distillery to Host Whiskey Wednesdays

PARK CITY, UTAH (May 26, 2011) – High West Distillery & Saloon brings whiskey education to Park City this spring with a series of weekly events which began May 18. Featuring whiskies from around the globe, Whiskey Wednesdays is a celebration of whiskey culture and the Rocky Mountain lifestyle. As part of the Whiskey Wednesday series, patrons may sample unique whiskeys and bourbons and develop a tasting palate for fine spirits. Free live music will change weekly.

In its second year, Whiskey Wednesdays will feature a different whiskey or bourbon from around the world, complete with tasting and pairing notes. Small plate pairings will be exclusively designed to compliment the flavors of the whiskey and enhance the tasting experience during Whiskey Wednesday. At 3 for $10, Executive Chef James Dumas’ small plate creations are ideal for sharing or nibbling on a light meal.

In its second year, Whiskey Wednesdays will feature different whiskeys from around the world and will provide their guests with some education on the featured whiskeys of the week.  Executive Chef, James Dumas will create 3 new small plate specials each week using fresh local ingredients and each will be paired with a featured whiskey.  Specials on pricing will occur on Wednesday only and include special pricing on a flight of the featured whiskeys and discount on a small plate trio.

“All whiskies have a unique profile, but many people don’t know the difference between the different varieties,” said High West Proprietor David Perkins. “Whiskey Wednesday is an opportunity for whiskey novices and connoisseurs to sample and experiment with new flavors. We’re proud of the whiskies we distill, but our goal is to expose people to spirits from around the world.”

Whiskey Wednesday kicked off on May 18 from 6-9pm through mid-June, then 9pm-12am through mid-September, and live music will change weekly.
