Horseback and ATV Tours Now Open at Snowbird

Snowbird, Utah – Guided horseback and ATV tours opened this week at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, officials announced today.

Both horseback and ATV tours begin on Snowbird’s 11,000 foot Hidden Peak where participants meet their guides before descending to the base of Mineral Basin for backcountry exploration through the wildflower havens and rustic wilderness of the Wasatch Mountains and American Fork Canyon. Horseback tours are $65/1 hour, $95/2 hours, or $155/3 hours (including lunch). ATV tours start at $59/1 hour and $89/2 hours. Snowbird also offers a variety of summer activities for the entire family, including the Aerial Tram, Peruvian Chairlift and Tunnel (weather permitting), Alpine Slide, four-station climbing wall, ZipRider, Bungy Trampoline, Mechanical Bull, Inflatable Castle and Slide. An All-Day Activities Pass is $32 for adults and $19 for children, which includes unlimited use of rides. Most activities run from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. New for this year is the Wasatch Mining Company Gemstone Mine, where participants can strike it rich by panning for real gemstones in Snowbird’s own mining sluice. Prices start at $6.

The Snowbird Mountain Music Festival, featuring The Cowboy Junkies, Son Volt, Old 97’s, The SteelDrivers and more takes place Friday-Sunday, July 10-12, at the new Peruvian Terrace outdoor venue. The Snowbird Renaissance Center is presenting a number of additional events and festivals throughout the summer, including the Cool Air Concert Series with free weekend concerts, Rock and Blues (July 24-26), Tent Revival (Aug. 14-16), and Oktoberfest (weekends and Labor Day Aug. 22-Oct. 11).
