Sundance, UT (June 26, 2012) – Change on Sundance Resort’s mountain
is methodically considered for years, sometimes decades, before ground
is broken.  As the resort evolves to meet the needs of both locals and
tourists, sometimes bold moves are warranted including the past need to
expand winter sports parking into an upper lot for 300 vehicles.  Since
that time, guests have been shuttled to the base to make their first run
from Ray’s Lift.  Last year Sundance sought to meet the requests of
terrain park enthusiasts and repositioned the area, but convenience and
snow coverage again challenged the move.  Sundance’s new lift that is
not yet named is scheduled for completion by November 2012 and will
offer convenience from the upper parking, direct access to the back
mountain, a new ticket booth and expanded snowmaking for the terrain
park and nearby runs.  A shuttle will continue to run to the base for
equipment rental, resort amenities and front mountain access.

“Since the beginning of Sundance in 1969, the balance between
preservation and progress has been respectfully considered in every
development.  We are pleased that the new lift fits within both of these
frameworks as it adds access to existing terrain,” said Chad
Linebaugh, Sundance General Manager.  “It is very rare to have such
easy access to winter snow sports and we are most excited to offer this
amenity to our loyal guests.”

The new lift will load at the southeast corner of the upper
parking lot and terminate at the top of Maverick. Mountain guests will
no longer need to shuttle to the base to enjoy winter sports, making the
experience more immediate. The lift will offer direct access to the
terrain park with a midway station to loop the run. In addition,
snowmaking will be added near the lift to benefit the terrain park and
surrounding runs expanding the terrain covered by snowmaking
capabilities to 40 percent of the resort.

"We are extremely excited about the new lift and all that it
offers.  Those who choose to ski and snowboard the back mountain and
terrain park can access the slopes just steps from their cars. For those
who live in Utah County and Heber Valley, the experience is simplified
to a few minutes from home to mountain,” commented Czar Johnson,
Director of Sundance Mountain Operations.  “We are also adding
increased snowmaking which will offer consistent access and the ability
to expand the terrain park, something our guests have requested for
years."

Sundance plans to open the lift on the first day of the 2012-13
winter season.  Updates and more information can be followed on Facebook
