Life is a Cabaret at the Goldener Hirsch Inn!
December 10, 2010
Park City, UTAH- Singer Elsbeth Gugi, known by some as “Gugi,” will bring a taste of the Alps to the Goldener Hirsch Inn this winter for a traditional après ski experience that includes yodeling, accordion music and Swiss folk songs and European Cabaret style music in the style of Edith Piaf and Marlene Dietrich. Gugi will perform from 2:30-5:00 in the Goldener Hirsch Bierstube on Saturdays, December 4, 11, and 18 and will also liven up the scene every other Thursday in January, February and March.
Gugi was a member of the accordion club and sang in her native Switzerland before moving to New Zealand to work on a dairy farm. “People kept asking me if I knew how to yodel,” she says, “so I asked my mother to send me some tapes and I taught myself. My first job was singing at the Ramada Inn Swiss Bistro in Queenstown, New Zealand.” Gugi then moved back to Switzerland and became a member of the opera chorus in St. Galen, and later studied voice in Vienna and at the Lee Strasberg studio in New York City.
Experience authentic European style cabaret music and lively drinking songs typical of après ski entertainment found in Austria and Switzerland at the multiple award-winning Goldener Hirsch Inn this winter! Check our web site, www.goldenerhirschinn.com for details and times.
