Live Music, Competitions Highlight Spring Events at Snowbird

Snowbird, Utah – With nearly two months of skiing and snowboarding left this season, Snowbird announced plans for spring entertainment at the resort, highlighted by live music on the Plaza Deck, Easter activities and two international big mountain skiing competitions.

“There’s still plenty of time for a weekend getaway at Snowbird, and the spring skiing is fantastic,” said Dave Fields, Vice President of Resort Operations.

Easter at Snowbird will feature a sunrise service on Hidden Peak and a free Easter egg hunt. Free Aerial Tram rides will be offered to transport passengers to Hidden Peak beginning at 5:45 a.m., and the service will begin at 7:15 a.m. Guests are encouraged to dress warmly, and no skis or snowboards will be allowed on the Tram before the resort opens for skiing and snowboarding at 9 a.m.

The Easter egg hunt is for children up to 11 years old, and will take place in Chickadee Bowl at 9 a.m. The Easter Bunny will make a special appearance at the hunt.

Easter brunch will be served at The Aerie, on Level 10 of The Cliff Lodge, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Reservations are recommended by calling (801) 933-2181. The all-you-can-eat brunch buffet for costs $40 for adults, $19 for children age 6-12, and free for children under age 6. Easter brunch will also be served at The Forklift from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., featuring an a la carte menu. The Forklift is located on Level 3 of the Snowbird Center.

Snowbird will host the Freeride Junior World Championships, a big mountain ski competition for youth, April 3-5. The Subaru Freeride World Tour for adults will stop at Snowbird April 11-13, featuring some of the best big mountain freeskiers from around the world.

The resort will host live music on the Plaza Deck each Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Performances are scheduled as follows:

Special lodging discounts are being offered throughout the rest of the season, including the Spring Stay and Ski Package, which includes a minimum of two nights lodging and two days of lift tickets from $99 per person, per night, based on double occupancy. Offering the longest ski and snowboard season in Utah, Snowbird will be open for skiing and snowboarding until May 13, conditions permitting, then Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays as long as snowpack allows. Spring season passes are available for $329 with unlimited skiing beginning April 1 through the end of the season.
