Park City Announces Savor the Summit

February 13, 2012

The 2012 summer in Park City, Utah will be kicked off with the fifth annual Savor the Summit on June 23rd, celebrating local cuisine at one of the world’s longest dinner parties. The Grande Table dining event features nearly a one-mile-long continuous dining table placed in the middle of Park City’s historic Main Street and offers cuisine from nearly three-dozen local and award-winning restaurants.

Savor the Summit has been replicated by many cities across the country, but the original one-night event in Park City, organized by the Park City Area Restaurant Association (PCARA), cannot be duplicated in ambiance and community. “Savor the Summit is an exciting community event that brings out the best of Park City,” said Ginger Ries, Executive Director of the PCARA. “It’s not just about savoring food and wine; it’s about sampling the variety of Park City’s friendly community, stunning views and relaxed Rocky Mountain culture. Pairing it all with local cuisine just fits so well.”

Savor the Summit’s Grande Table event, which draws more than 2,000 diners, is an outdoor showcase of Park City’s finest restaurants, chefs and culinary talent.  Park City Magazine Spirit Garden will be located at the intersection of Heber Avenue and Main and will come alive at 4:00pm serving an array of Treasury Estate Wines and a wide selection of Wasatch and Squatters Beers. The Main Stage will feature a variety of musical entertainers from 4:00 – 10:00pm including The Pimps of Joytime. If you have yet to encounter the Brooklyn-based band, they certainly live up to their name offering a polished, tight funky sound that gets any audience moving.
