Park City Mountain Resort Opens the Winter Season on Saturday, November 17

Park City, Utah (November 14, 2012) – Park City Mountain Resort opens for the 2012-13 winter season this Saturday, November 17.  PayDay, First Time, 3 Kings and the two conveyor lifts located in the “Learner Zone” will begin turning promptly at 9 a.m. Opening Day events continue throughout the day with a traditional snow blessing at noon and an après concert featuring Muddpuddle  in the Resort Plaza at 1 p.m.
 
PayDay lift will service beginner and intermediate terrain on Homerun and Treasure Hollow runs. 3 Kings will access Quicksilver with over 10 jibs and a jump setup on Quicksilver and Bunny Hollow. First Time and the two conveyor lifts will service beginner terrain.  
 
Opening Day events continue throughout the day. Members of the Northern Ute tribe will perform a traditional snow blessing, free and open to the public, at noon in the Resort Plaza. Also, local Park City band, Muddpuddle, plays an après concert 1-3 p.m. in the Resort Plaza, where a beer garden will be set up.
 
Free donuts, coffee and hot chocolate will be served in the Resort Plaza on Opening Day morning. The first chairs to depart each of the three lifts will break a commemorative banner celebrating the season, and passengers on those three chairs will receive limited edition “First Chair 2012-2013” t-shirts.
 
Additional Park City Mountain Resort operations scheduled to begin on Saturday, November 17 include:
·         Kristi's Coffee Café: 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
·         Park City Mountain Rentals:  8:00 a.m. – 5 p.m.
·         Legacy Sports: 8:00 am. – 6:00 p.m.
·         Legacy Café: 10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
·         Legends Bar & Grill: 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
·         Flying Eagle Zip Line: noon — 4:00 p.m.
·         Alpine Coaster: noon – 4:00 p.m.
·         All ski and snowboard school services (except Ladies Club and All Mountain Club)
 
ALSO: Friday, November 16 is the last chance for guests to purchase Benefit Days lift tickets: specially priced $25 lift tickets are valid beginning Opening Day through December 16. Proceeds benefit the Park City Mountain Resort Legacy Fund, supporting nonprofit organizations in Summit County, Utah. Tickets must be purchased in-person at the Resort’s ticket office, maximum of four to a person, and will not be sold after Friday, November 16.
