Sixth Annual Wine Pairings Weekend at Alta Lodge- July 1 & 2, 2011

June 8, 2011

Alta, UTAH—Alta Lodge will be presenting its sixth annual wine pairings weekend on Friday and Saturday, July 1 and 2.  The weekend begins with an opening reception at 7 pm, followed by dinner at 8. The featured event is a six-course dinner with nine wines. The two-day package includes overnight lodging on Friday and a buffet breakfast on Saturday.

Signature menu items from Chef Paul Raddon will include: breast of duck with apple cider agave reduction and jasmine rice; pan-fried filet of red trout with lemongrass gremolata crust and orange rosemary sauce with wild rice pilaf; and broiled rack of lamb with red currant cabernet sauce and potatoes Chantilly.

Sommelier Scott Cunningham will guide diners through the evening of food and wine pairings.  Cunningham’s flair for describing the unique aspects of each wine engages participants to discover their personal preferences for the two wines paired with each of the demi entrées.

The wine pairings weekend package is priced at $181 per person, double occupancy for a standard room; tax and service charge are included.  Without wine, the price is $145 per person, double occupancy. For reservations, call 800-707-2582(alta) or email info@altalodge.com.
