Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort wants to share the mountain adventure with Salt Lake City's youth, and also acquire new Facebook fans. The resort has a plan to achieve both at the same time. For every new Facebook fan from now until March 31st, Snowbird will sponsor a grade school child in Salt Lake County by giving away a free Aerial Tram ride valid for the 2012 summer season.
“Snowbird would like to expose children in the Salt Lake Valley to Little Cottonwood Canyon and encourage physical activity,” said Megan Zurkan, Snowbird’s Marketing Manager. “By offering them an Aerial Tram ride for helping us build our Facebook following, we hope to make it easier for them and their families to see how simple it is to access the mountains and connect with nature.”
Currently Snowbird is committed to sponsoring the following schools as Facebook fans are acquired:
The Guadalupe School: 135 students
Canyon View Elementary: 600 students
Peruvian Park Elementary: 475 students
Blessed Sacrament: 275 students
Copper Canyon Elementary: 861 students
Hunter Elementary: 650 students
East Midvale Elementary: 675 students
If Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort can reach its goal of 40,000 fans on Facebook before March 31, 2012 the resort will throw a spring bash on April 17, 2012 with a live band, giveaways and $40 lift tickets. Snowbird will also randomly pick two of its Facebook fans to win a getaway at The Cliff Lodge.
