Stein Eriksen Lodge Fundraising Efforts for Haiti Earthquake Relief

PARK CITY, UTAH (January 20, 2010) – Stein Eriksen Lodge and The Chateaux at Silver Lake are fundraising to assist the Albert Schweitzer Hospital (www.hashaiti.org), located forty miles North West of Port-Au-Prince.  The hospital has been operating continuously, since the earthquake, and medical supplies that would have lasted the facility months were consumed in the first days after the earthquake.
 
The staff at both hotels will participate in two weeks of fundraising efforts beginning on Wednesday, January 20, 1020. “Stein Eriksen Lodge feels strongly about giving to a local organization in Haiti and we are honored by the opportunity to help a truly worthwhile organization,” said Russ Olsen, chief executive officer at Stein Eriksen Lodge. In 2005 after the devastating tsunami in Phuket, Thailand, the Lodge with the support of its owners and the community raised $60,000 that was distributed directly to the relief effort with the assistance of the Amanpuri Resort and Hands on Bangtoa. “It is our hope that we can rally the same level of support for the Haitian community.”
 
 The mission of the hospital founded in 1956 by the late American Dr. Larimer and Gwen Grant Mellon, has always been to work hand in hand with the people of Haiti to improve their health and communities. As the flow of people urgently seeing care continues in the next days, weeks and months, the resources of the Albert Schweitzer Hospital will be pushed to the breaking point. It is critical that they receive support from communities like Park City so that they may continue with their mission.
 
Donations can be made through Wednesday, February 3, 2010 to the “Park City Healing to Haiti Fund” by calling Stein Eriksen Lodge’s Human Resource Department at 435-645-6458 or stopping at any Park City Zion’s Bank branch.
