Sundance Mountain Resort Receives Best of State Award for Best Vacation Resort And Dining Awards for Zoom in Park City and the Tree Room
April 8, 2013
(Sundance, Utah) April 2013---- Sundance Mountain Resort received the Best of State award for Best Vacation Resort. This is the third time that the Resort has been named the Best Vacation Resort in Utah by Best of State. Sundance also received awards for Casual Dining, Best American Continental Cuisine for Zoom in Park City, and Best Artisan Restaurant for the Tree Room. Since its founding by Robert Redford in 1969, Sundance has evolved into an award winning destination resort that still holds true to its mission of balancing art with nature and community.
The Best of State awards recognize outstanding individuals, organizations and businesses in Utah. Three categories of criteria are used to determine winners in each category. These include achievement in the field of endeavor, innovation or creativity in approaches, techniques, methods, or processes and the contribution to the quality of life.
“Sundance Resort is especially honored to receive these awards. We are committed to making our guest experience the highest quality possible. To be recognized by such prestigious awards validates our efforts and inspires us to strive for excellence in all that we do,” commented Chad Linebaugh, Sundance Resort General Manager.
Sundance is committed to Celebrating Food as Art and its three restaurants, Tree Room, Foundry Grill and Zoom in Park City exemplify this philosophy. Each of the restaurants has consistently garnered Best of State awards. This year’s honors go to the Tree Room and Zoom in Park City.
“Sundance strives to create excellence in all of its restaurants and this award recognizes this effort. Our chefs and the staff of each restaurant are passionate about food and passionate about Sundance. We hope that this passion translates to excellence for our patrons to enjoy,” commented Steve Solomon, Sundance Food and Beverage Director.
The Tree Room, an AAA Four Diamond restaurant, reflects the Sundance tradition of creating a community where art and nature are one. Everything from its intimate ambiance to the food itself encompasses this idea. The restaurant was originally built around the pine tree it is named for and that still dominates the restaurant. The glow of soft candlelight illuminates the Native American art and Western memorabilia on display from Robert Redford’s private collection. But, it’s the innovative, seasonal cuisine that truly celebrates food as an art form.
Zoom, located at the foot of Main Street in Park City, offers a warm, casual dining experience. Set in the historic train depot, Zoom’s casually elegant setting pays homage to Park City’s pioneering roots, as well as honors Sundance’s film tradition. With walls adorned with Sundance Institute and Film Festival photos, Zoom tips its hat to the lens and tradition of film from which it received its name. Zoom’s hearty, yet sophisticated cuisine puts its own spin on American continental cuisine. Each of the Sundance restaurants also features the Sundance Label Wines.
Best of State gives recognition yearly to outstanding individuals, organizations, and businesses in Utah. Award winners have demonstrated achievement and excellence in their fields of endeavor and have produced superior results and outcomes. More than 100 judges review the nominations. The process is overseen by the independent certified public accounting firm of Gilbert & Stewart, P.C.
