Executive Chef Briar Handly Accepts 2013 Salt Lake Magazine Dining Award
(PARK CITY, UTAH – For Immediate Release) – For the third consecutive time in the restaurant’s three-year existence, Talisker on Main has been named the “Best Restaurant in Park City” by Salt Lake Magazine. Executive Chef Briar Handly accepted the award before more than 400 of Utah’s finest chefs, restaurateurs, purveyors and media on Tuesday at the Utah Museum of Natural History in Salt Lake City.
“Chef Briar Handly continues his run as the star of Main Street,” opined Salt Lake Magazine Executive Editor Mary Brown Malouf in the March/April issue. “His energy is unbelievable: He works constantly, seeking out local food products, making his own charcuterie, maintaining a rooftop garden on a building next door to the restaurant. Beyond that, his inventiveness is boundless.”
Upon receiving the award, Chef Handly thanked Salt Lake Magazine and his team of culinary professionals, and invited the guests in attendance to “come up to Park City and dine with us.”
“Thank you also to Talisker for giving me and my staff the platform to do what we do,” he added later. “To cook in a kitchen in an amazing dining room that dates to the 19th century is really special.”
Located on the heart of Main Street in Park City, Talisker on Main originally opened in December 2009 to share the extraordinary level of service and cuisine that previously has been available only to members and guests of the private Talisker Club. Under Chef Handly’s direction, the restaurant has won multiple accolades including the AIA Jury Award for Restaurant Design and Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence. Talisker on Main’s extensive wine list and spirits menu are curated by Sean Marron, Talisker’s Director of Wine and Spirits.
Talisker on Main was also heralded in the Wall Street Journal and Saveur.com this week. Liz Gunnison referred to the restaurant as a “critical darling” in the Wall Street Journal, while Jenny Miller wrote for Saveur, “When a restaurant wins awards independently for its cuisine, wine and design, it's probably time to book a table.”
Talisker on Main was the first dining venue in the Talisker Restaurant Collection, which also includes The Farm and Bistro at Canyons Resort. Talisker on Main is located at 515 Main Street and is open seven nights a week from 5:30pm. For reservations, call (435) 658-5479.
