Talisker on Main Wins Jury Award at Eight Annual AIA Restaurant Design Awards

PARK CITY, UTAH (June 25, 2012) – The American Institute of Architects (AIA) announced Friday that Talisker on Main has received one of four Jury Awards in the Eighth Annual AIA Restaurant Design Awards.

The Architectural Institute of America (AIA) announced the awards on Friday at the West Coast’s largest design show – Dwell on Design at the Los Angeles Convention Center.  Talisker on Main joined Mario Batali’s La Birreria in New York, plus A-Frame and Beachwood Café (both of Los Angeles) as the award winners.

"A recognition in any capacity is tremendous, but when it comes from an esteemed industry organization like AIA Los Angeles, along with a panel of judges who collectively represent some of the most successful restaurants in the nation, it simply cannot be described,” said Rebecca Buchan, founder of Denton House Design Studio.  “I'm grateful that Talisker on Main was selected as a Jury award winner at the 2012 Restaurant Design Awards and credit this win to the talented group of individuals who contributed to the project. CEO, to the architects and designers at Denton House Design Studio, this accolade is a celebration for the state of Utah and its ever evolving food community."

The nominees were judged on function, ambience and visual impact by the 2012 jury: KCRW radio personality, chef & restaurateur Evan Kleiman; architect extraordinaire Mark Rios; and Bravo's wunderkind Top Chef winner & restaurateur Michael Voltaggio.

For Chef John Murcko, Vice President of Food & Beverage for Talisker, it’s another honor for the restaurant that has twice been named “Best Restaurant in Park City” by Salt Lake Magazine. 

“What an honor for us,” Murcko said.  “We are thrilled to receive the national recognition – but we will continue to provide the same impeccable dining experience that our regular local diners have come to expect ever night.”
