The Mariposa Restaurant Introduces Small Plate Dining

November 30, 2012

Culinary aficionados will get to taste more of The Mariposa's award-winning menu this winter, as the Deer Valley Resort restaurant changes to a small plate format. Featuring the same gourmet appeal and intimate dining experience in Silver Lake Lodge, The Mariposa will introduce an entire menu of individual tasting size plates that take diners on an edible journey.

"When our Chefs sit down to eat, they love to taste their way through many flavors and dishes rather than one entree," says Julie Wilson, director of food and beverage at Deer Valley Resort. "The Mariposa's new menu is a reflection of our Executive Chef Clark Norris' preferred dining style and allows guests to linger over a variety of familiar and exotic tastes." The new menu will feature tempting creations such as Diver Scallop Ceviche with lime and aji chile marinade and cilantro emulsion; the Wild Mushroom Begger's Purse with Beaujolais reduction sauce, explorateur cheese and baby greens and Seared Bison Fillets topped with a melting slice of foie gras - cipollini onion St. Andre cheese.

To celebrate The Mariposa's new menu style, the restaurant will feature a limited special throughout the first two weeks of the resort's 2012-13 winter season. Diners will receive one small plate free with the purchase of three or more small plates from December 7 to 19, 2012. No coupons are necessary.

For many years, The Mariposa has been known for its gourmet fare, award-winning wine lists and top-rated experience. The restaurant earned Zagat's #1 service score in Utah for 2013, receiving a score of 29 (out of 30) and was "dubbed the 'pinnacle' of dining among the Park City ski set." This season, The Mariposa will continue to offer an exceptional, intimate dining experience that guests have come to expect.

The Mariposa will be open for dinner only, Tuesday through Sunday, December 7, 2012, to Sunday, April 6, 2013. For reservations, please call 435-645-6715. Vegetarian and gluten-free options will be available.
