Utah Company Following a Historical Path to Success in Economic Hard Times

April 7, 2011

Salt Lake City, Utah – Ski ‘N See Ski Shops in Utah announces a new hire to its marketing and client relations team. Becky Johnson has spent the last five years working in the Utah hospitality industry with stints as the Senior Sales Manager for Chase Hotel and Suites in Salt Lake City and most recently, Director of Sales and Marketing at The Yarrow Hotel in Park City.

At a time when it seems illogical for companies to hire or increase spending, Ski ‘N See is following in the footsteps of some of America’s most prestigious and stable companies, such as Proctor and Gamble, FedEx Corp, and Microsoft. These companies not only pushed through depressions and recessions, but came through the other side bigger and better because they chose to increase their marketing spend during those rough times.

“Now is the time to reinvest in our company. Our employees are our most valuable asset and to strengthen our market exposure, I believe adding to our talented team now is the right thing to do as we push through this downturn in the economy,” says Ski ‘N See owner Roy Ostendorf. “We have a good presence in the Park City area and we’ve wanted someone who not only lives in town, but is savvy to what visitors to Park City are looking for, to represent our circle of shops.”

Becky Johnson will join Barbara Eyler and Kerry Phillips on the marketing and client relations team. Eyler started with Ski ‘N See when Ostendorf bought the company in 1999 and Phillips joined the team in early 2009. Ostendorf has grown Ski ‘N See from three shops to 10, with 5 of them spread across the Salt Lake Valley and 5 more in the Park City/Deer Valley area – including ARCS retail and Skis On Wheels delivery shops.

“I am very excited to be joining the team at Ski N See,” says Johnson. “I have referred guests to Ski ‘N See over the past several years and have always been impressed with the company’s dedication to customer service. I look forward to switching gears in the hospitality industry and providing guests with another aspect of the Utah vacation experience.”

Utah Ski Authority has recognized Ski ‘N See as the “The Best Ski and Snowboard Shop” in the state for nine years in a row.
