Wasatch Powderbird Guides Kicks off 2010-2011 Season with Exceptional Pre-Season Snow Totals and Reservations

December 21, 2010

Snowbird, Utah—December 21, 2010—Wasatch Powderbird Guides, heli-skiing and snowboarding operation based at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, opens the 2010-2011 Season to record pre-season reservations. With Utah ski resorts accumulating over 200 inches of snow to date, Powderbird clients experienced excellent backcountry powder conditions on December 15, the guiding company's first heli-skiing day of the season.

Powderbird offers a high-end travel and adventure service, and consequently is very closely related to the economically variable tourism industry. Consumer confidence is closely related to advanced reservation bookings, which have seen a downward trend the past three seasons. Prior to December 15, 2010, Powderbird received 440 reservations, compared to 252 the previous season and 238 the year before. The high amount of early season snowfall is likely to be a source of increased heli-skiing interest as well.

“Powderbird is very excited to experience such a high amount of early season interest in heli-skiing trips,” says CEO Rusty Dassing. “We anticipate a winter of excellent backcountry conditions, and look forward to sharing unforgettable heli-ski and snowboard adventures with guests to our Snowbird and Canyons Resort bases."

“To further accommodate our guests’ unique tastes and provide a wide range of lodging, dining, and nightlife options, Powderbird has recently opened a second base of operations at Canyons Resort in Park City”, says Dassing. Discount seats are still available on a first come, first served basis for the remainder of December and throughout January. Call 801-742-2800 to reserve your trip today.
