Allow Myself To Introduce...Myself
Skiers! Utahns! Lovers of winter, hello! My name is Cat Killfoil and I wanted to let you know a bit more about me before I become the most valuable resource in your snow life. You might have seen me in action with my winning Powderhound entry. That almost tells you everything you need to know: I think I’m hilarious and I talk with my eyebrows. In addition, famous things have been named after me, you might have heard of the snow cat? Or cat skiing? Kidding...seriously though, I have to tell you that skiing didn’t used to be “my thing” (when I read that I use my hands to make air quotes, that’s totally one of my things).
It’s true! I was a beach bum running around in stilettos and sundresses way before Utah was ever on my radar. The climate change hasn’t stopped me from rocking the dresses and stilettos, but now I’m all about The Greatest Snow on Earth®! It’s a good life, and as I explore it more and more I can’t wait to tell you all about it. SkiUtah.com is a killer ski resource and being part of it I get to to share my passion and excitement with you. Keep my blog and all the great resources Ski Utah offers plugged in to your browser, and check back often!
How do you ski? New school, old school, family in ski school? Let’s talk about it all. I plan on going to every resort in Utah this winter. I plan on interviewing strangers, trying new restaurants, and celebrating winter with you. I’ll post videos and stories about past and future events you won’t want to miss, and if you’re lucky you might even make the cut and see yourself here!
Feel free to tell me what you want to hear more about, whether you live in SLC, or have never seen the state of Utah...and if that’s true... what are you thinking? Book that flight and get out here already!

Hey Cat--
I'll be at Deer Valley opener this weekend-- are you gonna be around for all the fun? Watch for me in the pink ski jacket off of Empire, Lady Morgan, Wasatch, or Sultan lifts!
All the best,
Janet

Hey Cat --
Flying to SLC Saturday 4Dec and skiing Deer Valley opening day and Sunday/Monday because at $30 lift tickets, I'm not going anywhere else!
I will have on my faded pepto bismo pink jacket-- can't find a new one with all the accouterments... Maybe find something in Park City to update my look!
Gimme a holler if you will be at DV for all the festivities!

Thanks Cat:
Leaning toward Deer Valley & all the advantages of Park City. Definitely looking forward to your upcoming posts.

Janet,
I can't lie - even if I get teased - there are some days where nothing is better than the smooth fast Deer Valley corduroy. That balances out your legs after a day in the trees at Alta, right? I love your phrase, "let the flurries turn to dumps" and am mad I didn't think of it first, hope you don't mind if I borrow it! As Matt and the Yeti mentioned, our first flurries are coming soon! See you in December!

Hey there Sanjay. First of all, let me commend you on the sheer genius that has you foregoing the icy slopes of the East in favor of our smooth deep fluffy powder for a month this winter. Brilliant.
Also, I couldn't have a first blog post without a snafu, that'd be unlike me...the link should be corrected now, thanks for letting me know!
That being said, I'm sure to hit those two mountains your best bet would be the AltaSnowbird One Ticket:
http://www.alta.com/pages/altabird.php
check that out! That would leave you time to check out Park City for adventures that go beyond skiing, or do a Solitude or Brighton day. If you have transportation, (of course I'm biased) any resort is worth the drive, Utah doesn't have a bad one! :)
Seriously though, I don't mean to be vague:
STAY TUNED for my blog next week - I'm going to highlight some of my personal favorite features at each ski resort - that will help you pick!
Thanks for commenting, and be sure to come back here and tell us about your trip.

Oh, Cat-- I look forward to your updates and gabbing about the awesome snow experience that Utah is...
I fly from Minneapolis just to enjoy amazing champagne powder that only the Wasatch creates.... I already have plans for the weekend of 4Dec and 18Dec -- hey, a girl's gotta have some vertical, if you know what I mean...
Even though I'm a middle aged gal, I hit it like the best of 'em and really enjoy the blues at Deer and Alta. I'll hit you up and you can take me thru some trees off of Alta's Supreme lift, ok? Cool!
Until then, let the flurries turn to dumps and grow another year's perfect base for the ultimate skiing experience-- Utah!!!
All the best,
Janet

Hey Cat Powhound,
Your twitter link goes to page not found. More importantly, I'll be doing 20-30 days @ Snowbird & Alta this year (coming from NYC). Which other Utah areas would you recommend? TIA
Sanjay
