*Operational Status*
The operational status of your tour is confirmed between 4:00–6:00 PM the evening prior to your reservation. This ensures our guide team can make the most accurate decisions based on weather, avalanche conditions, and resort operations.

Tour Overview
A typical Snowbird departure meets at 8:15 AM on the Tram Plaza at Entrance #2 (see Snowbird Village Map). Your guides will greet you near the ski racks, just past the ticket windows. After introductions and a quick check-in, you’ll receive your Ski Utah Gold Pass and be outfitted with an avalanche transceiver, backpack, probe, and shovel.
From there, you’ll board a pre-public Aerial Tram and ascend 3,000 feet to Hidden Peak. Inside the Hidden Peak Lodge, your guides will host a morning briefing, reviewing the day’s plan, snowpack and weather expectations, potential routes, key elements of backcountry etiquette, and a brief overview of how to use the assigned safety equipment.
The rest of the day unfolds according to conditions and your group’s objectives. You’ll explore a combination of resort terrain and backcountry travel, with opportunities for traverses, ridge hikes, and memorable descents across the Wasatch. Midday, you’ll pause for a lunch break at an on-mountain restaurant (included with your reservation).
By afternoon, the group makes its way back toward Snowbird Resort, where the tour concludes. Expect tired legs, plenty of high-fives, and stories to share from an unforgettable day in the Wasatch.
