The Ultimate Challenge is presented by University of Utah Health Care and is a non-competitive, endurance bicycle ride hosted by the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah. Now in its eighth year, the 2017 event will be held on Saturday, Aug. 5th.

Following the Stage 6 “Queen Stage” route that the Tour of Utah’s pro cyclists will race later that day, amateur cyclists set off that morning to complete the same course.

The Ultimate Challenge traditionally spans 110 miles, gains more than 12,000 feet of elevation and includes a mountaintop finish at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort—earning it the title of “America’s Toughest One Day Cycling Adventure”.

Registration for the event includes nutrition and gear support, a catered post-ride meal and a reserved area at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort to watch the professional riders cross the Stage 6 finish line.

The final climb along Little Cottonwood Canyon will be timed this year, allowing all participants to compare their times to the pros who race Stage 6 later that day.
