John Paul Campout at Snowbasin Resort

On July 17th at Snowbasin Resort, the John Paul Campout will offer guests a one of a kind experience to camp overnight at the top of the mountain, explore and learn about the remnants of the ocean floor in the area, and help prepare a campfire feast over the open fire in John Paul Lodge while listening to cowboy stories and live guitar music.

Snowbasin, Utah – July, 2015 On July 17th at Snowbasin Resort,the John Paul Campout will offer guests a one of a kind experience to camp overnight at the top of the mountain, explore and learn about the remnants of the ocean floor in the area, and help prepare a campfire feast over the open fire in John Paul Lodge while listening to cowboy stories and live guitar music.

Guests will take the John Paul Express Chair up the mountain and explore the geological remnants of an ancient ocean floor while enjoying the majestic view at 9,000 feet. Dinner will be prepared over the open fire in John Paul Lodge with Dutch ovens and spits with only the highest quality ingredients. Guests are welcome to help prepare dinner, or sit back and watch the action. Menu includes bourbon chicken, lemon dill salmon, cowboy cut pork chop, open-fire slow roasted wagyu beef tenderloin, wild bison meatloaf, cheddar and green chili au gratin potatoes, cornbread with honey butter, brussel sprouts and pork belly, dutch oven peach cobbler, root beer floats, brownies, and a late night snack of s’mores and campfire bananas.

After dinner, relax by the fire with a drink and listen to live guitar music and cowboy stories or watch the sunset on the John Paul deck before camping outside the lodge or in the basement of John Paul Lodge. In the morning, Snowbasin Resort’s award winning chefs will prepare a gourmet breakfast with country fried steak, cheesy scrambled eggs, buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy, country has browns, hickory smoked bacon, maple sausage, flapjacks, a parfait bar and more. Guests can either hike down the mountain or ride the chairlift back to the base.
