Boulder, Colo.—SKI Magazine and Warren Miller Entertainment, two of the biggest brands in the winter-sports category, have expanded their video-based online courses as the ski season approaches. The ski-instruction course “How to Break Through,” and the action-filmmaking course “Adventure Film School,” are the latest additions to Active Interest Media’s (AIM) AIM Adventure U, AIM’s online education initiative that engages students throughout all of AIM’s lifestyle brands.

“Our snowsports brands are uniquely positioned to offer this content to our large audience base,” says Lydia Tirpak, director of marketing and business development for AIM’s Mountain Group. “The powerful combination of our brands’ expertise, as well as our strong industry partnerships with organizations like the Professional Ski Instructors of America, allow us to offer compelling online education products to readers across a wide variety of interests and sports.”

The better you ski, the more you’ll enjoy the sport. To that goal, SKI Magazine is launching “How to Break Through,” a nine-part online instruction course that’s designed to help skiers take their game to the next level. SKI partnered with the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) to film the course at Solitude Resort in Utah. Students take the course at their own pace, and have 24/7 access to the content so they can review each lesson at their convenience. Michael Rogan, SKI’s Director of Instruction and PSIA Alpine Team Coach, will show skiers how they can conquer the whole mountain.

Video is a huge growth market for both outdoor enthusiasts and media brands. Creating an engaging video takes more than just grabbing your cell phone and capturing the action. In Warren Miller Entertainment’s “Adventure Film School,” students learn everything from the essential gear to advanced filming techniques. Award-winning cinematographer and Warren Miller Director Chris Patterson leads the instruction in this six-part online course.
