The calendar may say it’s spring, but the weather up here says otherwise! We’ve received 17 inches of snow in the last 24 hours, including 15 inches overnight, as wintery conditions continue at Solitude. More snow is expected during daylight hours and overnight into Friday. Temperatures should linger around 20 today. Patrol will be conducting avalanche mitigation this morning, so expect some trail closures and lift delays. Tonight, we’re hosting our last Roundhouse Roundup of the season with our mid mountain lodge open until 7:00 p.m. Skin or snowshoe up after 4:30 p.m. for food and drinks in front of a warm fireplace. A quick reminder that our Nordic and Snowshoe Center Spring Fling takes place on Friday. See our events calendar for details.

Good Morning, This is Christina with your Mountain Report for Thursday, March 30, 2023. It may be warming up in the valley but at The Bird winter is never ending. We woke up to a nice refresh of 14 inches, and there’s more on the way. Today’s forecast calls for snow showers with a high near 28 and wind chill values as low as 7. The winds will be on the calmer side at 10 - 15 mph from the west. Upgrade any pass with Fast Tracks, and speed to those powder stashes. Weather permitting, we are hosting the IFSA Freeride World Qualifiers. Swing by Silver Fox off the Peruvian chair to watch some of the these athletes compete. Good luck to all the athletes competing and I'll see you on hill!

The storms have returned and are dumping once again - hope you aren’t ready to put away your skis and snowboards just yet! We received 10 inches overnight, and there’s more on the way today with an 80% chance of snow and 3 to 5 inches of accumulation possible. Today’s high is 31° with mild westerly winds blowing between 11 and 15 mph. The winter storm warning is in place through Friday night, and temperatures should hold steady in the low 30s, helping to preserve the base as the snow dumps. OpenSnow calls for a possible 24 inches over the next day, so keep the snow dances coming!
