How To: Ski Snowbird

Ladies and gents,

Snowbird isn’t easy. It’s not inherent. It doesn’t do the work for you. And that’s why everyone loves it. We see awards pour in to Utah continually. Like the awards, the tourists pour in. And hit the Bird. They desire the steeps. The powder, the wild openness of the resort.

Most of all of those things used to scare me. But fact is, I finally get it. Snowbird makes you better at LIFE. How you ask?

OK, here goes.

The terrain is epic.

You’ve heard it before but you don’t get it yet even if you’re an expert. You may be there year after year but there are still places I went you haven’t seen yet. How crazy is that to think about? It’s so big and wide and just, skiable. There’s a reason it gets the Freewide World Tour.

The views.

You saw that selfie. And if you’ve ever been just walking out of the Tram and lost your breath for a moment when you realize the commute you made and look back down into the valley...wow.

It’s vastness.

That’s the word. What’s another word? Terrain, size, style...this is the resort it’s more hard to explain. I could keep gushing but fact is you get it or don’t. And if you don’t you need to go get more acquainted with the Bird. The End.

The push.

I fought it for so long. I didn’t want to like the place the cool kids love. I showed up expecting it to hurt. But suddenly the clouds blew over, the sun peeked out, the snow got soft, and the lines got deep. And most days are like that at the Bird - they sneak up on you and you coast and wahoo and get transported.

I’m not on the marketing team but I see it like a video game. And a day at Snowbird made me level up.

How do you do Snowbird? How do you take it to the next level?

*Let it snow*
