Snowbird To Open Friday, Nov. 20 - November 17, 2009

The 39th winter season at Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort begins Friday, Nov. 20, with skiing and riding on natural and man-made snow. Snowbird will open at 9 a.m. with the Gadzoom chairlift accessing intermediate and advanced terrain and Chickadee accessing beginner slopes; additional terrain will be evaluated as weather conditions permit.

Snowbird Donates 5,252 lbs of Food To Utah Food Bank - November 12, 2009

Snowbird collected more than two and a half tons of non-perishable food for the Utah Food Bank during the resort’s annual Customer Appreciation Days. The 5,252 pounds – the equivalent of 4,103 meals – was presented to the Utah Food Bank on Nov. 11 at the organizations new $10 million facility. In addition, $1,200 was raised for the Wasatch Adaptive Sports Program.

Flaky Fundraiser Supports Ski Utah School Program - November 4, 2009

For the first time, Ski Utah has introduced a fundraising promotion in hopes of spreading this unique program to more schools in Utah. In trying economic times, some schools cannot afford the fees associated with the program. Utah Tourism Industry Leaders Appointed to State Board - October 13, 2009

New to the Board of Tourism Development are Nathan Rafferty, the president of Ski Utah, who will represent the ski industry, and Joel Racker, the president and chief executive officer of the Utah Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau, who will represent Utah, Summit, Juab, and Wasatch counties. Rafferty was communications director for Ski Utah for seven years before he was promoted to president in 2005. He’s a graduate of the University of Arizona.

Snowbird Recieves First Snowfall of the Year - October 1, 2009

Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort is receiving its first significant snowfall of the season with 6 inches already deposited Wednesday at the base, and up to 20 inches of total snowfall forecasted by Thursday afternoon.
