Powder Mountain Again Ranks #1 in Value and Cracks the Top 10 for Overall Satisfaction
Pow Mow Takes Four Top 10 Rankings in the Annual
Best of North America Ski Resort Survey
EDEN, Utah (Oct. 18, 2012) – The results for this year’s annual Ski Magazine reader survey were recently released, and Powder Mountain Resort cleaned up. The resort received high marks in several categories naming them as one of top resorts in North America, and once again ranked highest in the “Value” category.
Powder Mountain is hardly a newcomer to Ski Magazine’s prestigious list. For five out of the past six years, the resort has been ranked the #1 “Best Value” resort, with a brief break in the streak where they found themselves at the #2 position. Additionally, Powder Mountain was ranked #2 for “Snow” and #4 for “Character” this year.
Since lifts started turning 41 years ago, Powder Mountain has made a few key updates to the resort experience, but managed to maintain a small town charm that resonates with locals and visitors alike. All of these factors – great value, world-class snow and big time on mountain character - have created a perfect storm of accolades resulting in a ninth “Overall Satisfaction” resort ranking. This is the first year Powder Mountain has appeared on the overall list, and what the resort feels to be some of their most significant rankings to date.
“The SKI Magazine category rankings that Pow Mow is recognized for, are a true representation of the experience that is provided to our guests,” says Patrick Lundin of Powder Mountain Resort. “We couldn't be more proud to see that our efforts are continually ranked in the top 10 in ‘Value,’ ‘Snow,’ ‘Character’ and this year, ‘Overall Satisfaction.’ Pow Mow is paradise and the rankings showcase some of our best qualities.”
The Ski Magazine annual list leverages thousands of reader surveys to assign the rankings to roughly 400 eligible resorts in North America. The magazine is available on stands nationwide.
Powder Mountain Resort offers more than 7,000 acres of skiable terrain, 144 runs, snowcat skiing, side country skiing in Powder Country, backcountry tours and two terrain parks—not to mention the delicious $6 pulled pork sandwiches from the Powder Keg. The resort is located 55 miles from Salt Lake International Airport and 19 miles from Ogden, Utah. With more than 400 inches of annual snowfall, Ogden is Powder Magazine’s #2 ranked ski destination and Pow Mow has plenty of fresh. Basically, it’s awesome. If you don't want to take our word for it, Powder Mountain is consistently ranked the #1 Value Ski Resort in North America by the readers of Ski Magazine—also ranking 9th best by readers for Overall Satisfaction this year.
