  1. Skis Fly Free on Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines offers some of the most competitive airfares in the market. To top it off, Southwest allows passengers to check two bags for free. That means no charge for skis and snowboards and no airline-fee hassles. Check out Southwest's super low fares at www.southwest.com.
  2. 12-16-08 Winner - Christopher M. of York, PA.
Take your time and use skiutah.com, the best way to find all the information you need like resort distance maps, local secrets and ground transportation. All I do now that my trip is booked is check the skiutah.com snow report!
  3. 12-22-08 Winner - David M. of Park City, Utah.
Show your airline boarding pass and recieve a compliimentary no-charge same day lift ticket at your choice of three Park City, Utah ski resorts: Deer Valley Resort, Park City Mountain Resort or The Canyons Resort. Visit parkcityinfo.com and click on their "Quick START" link for details and required registration: http://www.parkcityinfo.com/quickstart/.
  4. 12-29-08 Winner - Dennis T. of Kula, Hawaii.
Set up a SkiUtah.com text message with your phone. Book a flight with Southwest Airlines and just get there. After landing check your Ski Utah message, choose your resort and within minutes you are in the "Best Snow on Earth". It can't get any easier or better than that.
  5. 1-5-09 Winner - Annemarie H. of Laconia, New Hampshire.
When flying in to Salt Lake or any major ski resort keep your key ski needs on board with you, so you don't have to suffer with your most valuable assests when luggage gets lost. I always bring boots, glove, goggles and my favorite reliable warm socks on board with me. You can always demo skiis, but there is nothing like your own boots, googles & gloves.
  6. 1-12-09 Winner - Kendra H. of Bath, PA.
I always book my flights on Southwest Airlines. You can save a bundle. Try priceline for an awesome price on a last minute hotel if you can swing it. Finding a hotel that offers complimentary breakfast provides you with free fuel to rip up the slopes (at least until lunch).
  7. 1-19-09 Winner - Andrew G. of Reminderville, OH.
In these trying economic times, make sure you utilize the web before you head to Utah. You'd be surprised what coupons and savings you can get by reserching the places you intend to visit on the web first.
  8. 1-26-09 Winner - Keith S. of Ogden, UT.
Don't let a rough economy stop you from hitting the slopes. Check out local Utah sporting goods stores, like Canyon Sports (www.canyonsports.com), who offer discount lift tickets to 10 different great Utah resorts. Including all of the resorts in Park City. There are multiple resorts that you can save more than $20 on each lift ticket!
  9. 2-2-09 - Deb of Weston, MA.
If you are combining a little skiing with a business trip, my trip is to pack your ski clothes in your ski bag with your skis (extra padding) and then send the bag directly to the resort. It makes the travelling fast and easy, and your boss or clients won't know that you're thinking about the deep powder during the meetings! Do call the resort first to let them know.
  10. 2-9-09 - Ken of Vernon, NY.
Ski boots liners are difficult to dry out when skiing consecutive days. A portable boot dryer dries out your wet, cold liners overnight. They are small for compact storage and you can travel with them in the boots. I use the Peet boot dryers which work great. In a pinch you can use a blow dryer to help dry and warm those boots before heading out in the morning.
  11. 2-16-09 - David of Cleveland, GA.
If you are thinking about buying your own gear this season and do not live in an area where skiing is a popular sport. Then wait until you get to Utah to buy. Coming closer to the source allows for more competive prices and more snow experts to assist in your purchase. I waited and saved lots of money and got exactly what I needed to enjoy the powder.
  12. 3-3-09 - Dan of Arlington, TN.
Use shipping company such as FedEx to ship any extra luggage so that it will be at your destination when you arrive. If you ship everything except you carry-on bags you will not have to worry about waiting for luggage or hauling it around when you could be hitting the slopes.
  13. 3-11-09 - Jane of North Vancouver, BC.
Forget Whistler: catch the 5:40 am flight from Vancouver to Salt Lake City and arrive in time to still have a great day in the champagne powder Utah is famous for!
  14. 3-18-09 - Rob of McKinney, TX.
Save some money by traveling later in the day. You can still hit the slopes in the evening for night skiing, and the cost for both the airfare and lift tickets are less than a full day rate.
  15. 4-14-09 - Christian of Sandy, UT.
Buy a super pass when you come to Salt Lake. It allows you to ski or ride Alta, Brighton, Solitude and Snowbird. You basically arrive at the resort and just load the lift. And the price is far cheaper than buying a lift ticket everyday you are here. www.visitsaltlake.com/mysaltlake/ski-salt-lake/ski-salt-lake-super-pass/
  16. 4-22-09 - Terri of Oxford, MS.
If you are a new skier, like I was, rent your skis. Companies like "Skis on the Run" asked me lots of questions and provided me with the perfect first experience on the slopes. They deliver and pick up your gear which makes your trip even easier. Also, invest in a 1/2 day lesson at a resort - the confidence boost is great!

And remember, travel to Utah because time is money. Utah has eleven world-class resorts within a short one-hour drive from Salt Lake City International Airport which was recently rated the most on-time airport in the nation by the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Less cancellations and delays equals more time on the slopes, and a better vacation. Over half of the U.S. population lives just an average 2.5 hour flight away from Salt Lake City. With over 800 flights arriving and departing daily, getting in and out of Utah has never been easier.
