Folks in Utah really do know how to party! Well, they sure know how to celebrate, especially in July, when they do it twice! All over the state, there are parades, festivals, BBQs and fireworks and dramatic drone shows. Cities, parks and even ski resorts are celebrating America’s “birthday” over the holiday weekend in some of the country’s most beautiful settings. So, pack your picnic and don your red, white and blue and enjoy these uniquely Utah July 4th celebrations.
Park City
Park City Main Street Parade, Park City, July 4th
Enjoy a full day of activities, starting with a pancake breakfast at City Park at 7am.
Cole Sport 5k Fun Run at 8am. Then, head over to Main Street to find a spot to watch the famous July 4th Parade which begins at 11am. The route begins at the top of Main Street, heads down, turns left on 9th Street (past the Town Lift) and continues down Park Avenue. As always, there will be FREE public transit to/from Main Street. For the third year, LGBTQ+ Taskforce will wrap up Pride Month marching with friends and allies in the parade. Meet on Swede Alley before 11am and walk down Main Street with people cheering. The parade will be followed by kids' activities, rugby games, volleyball tournaments and live music.
Park City Forum Fest at Canyons Village, Park City, July 1-4
For an entire weekend of fun, Park City Mountain at Canyons Village will host Forum Fest 2023. Starting on Friday, June 30, a concert in the Forum will kick off four more days of live music, nightly drone shows, great food and drinks, kids and family activities, public art displays, fireworks and more.
Stein Eriksen 4th of July BBQ, Deer Valley, July 4th
With stunning mountain views, live music, and mouth-watering BBQ, Chef Zane’s annual party on the Glitretind deck will again be a sold-out event this July 4th.
Red, White and Blue Festival, Heber, July 4th
Head to nearby Heber Valley for a day-long Independence Day celebration, starting with a hot air balloon lift at 6 am, followed by a 5K, 10K run/walk and Patriotic walk before breakfast and a flag ceremony in Heber City. The day continues with games, contests, concerts and demonstrations for the entire family before the fireworks finale at 10pm.
Midway Boosters 4th of July Celebration, Midway, July 4th
Midway is hosting a “small town” celebration beginning with a cannon shot heard around the valley at 6am. Now that you’re awake, take the family to pancake breakfast ($10/adult, $5/child benefits local Boy Scout Troop 216) and decorate your spokes and banana seats for the come-all bike parade. No surprise for the town that wakes everyone with a cannon blast, it will finish the day with fireworks at 10pm.
Salt Lake City
On July 1st, Snowpine Lodge is again the place for mouth-watering BBQ, thirst-quenching drinks, an epic pool party, and music in the Wasatch Mountains! It’s hosting a concert on the lawn from 1-7pm, featuring some of Utah’s amazing local artists. The cost is $40 per person/$25 per child (includes food, music, pool access, mechanical bull, 360 photo booth, and more). They will have chairs, but feel free to bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy the views from Snowpine’s spectacular canyon-view lawn.
Salt Lake Bees vs. Sacramento River Cats, Salt Lake City, July 4th
Is there anything more ‘Merican than watching America’s Pastime with a hot dog and a cold drink? Watch the AAA-affiliate Bees take on the River Cats in the heart of Salt Lake City, followed by a fireworks show.
Liberty Day at This is the Place Heritage Park, Salt Lake City, July 4th
Walk into history and enjoy an “old-fashioned celebration of the birth of our great Nation.” Independence Day at the Park begins with a flag ceremony and salute conducted by the Sons of the American Revolution. Guests will enjoy the Park’s daily activities, attractions, a Candy Cannon, a watermelon eating contest and more.
The Gateway Fourth of July Celebration, Salt Lake City, July 4th
Get ready to party at The Plaza at The Gateway in Downtown Salt Lake City. During the day, karaoke, games, face paintings, contests and more will entertain families. That evening, from 6-10pm, two stages featuring DJs and live music will keep the energy up until fireworks cap things off at 10pm.
Salt Lake City Drone Show, Jordan Park, July 1st
Buzzing drones will shine brightly at Jordan Park on July 1st. Starting at 8pm, you can claim your spot on the lawn and enjoy food trucks and live music performances before the drone show at 10pm. This event is open to all ages, and admission is free. Outside foods and non-alcoholic drinks are permitted.
Ogden
4th of July Fun at Hidden Lake, Powder Mountain, July 4th
Powder Mountain will host a 4th of July bash from 5-9pm, complete with axe throwing, cornhole, beer garden, live music, and reduced-price ticket for its new Bike Park. Bring a blanket. This might be the best place to watch the Ogden Valley's Fireworks show.
Utah County
Fourth of July BBQ at Sundance Resort, Provo, July 4th
Sundance Mountain Resort knows how to throw a BBQ. In addition to great food at the Lookout, you and the family can enjoy lawn games, live music, and scenic and mountain bike lift rides all afternoon. The BBQ ($34/adult, $21/child) includes an assortment of ribs, burgers, bratwursts, sides, salads, and desserts. Soft-serve ice cream and draft beer are also available with BBQ purchases.
Freedom Festival, Provo, July 1-4
The celebration doesn’t get much bigger than the Freedom Festival in Provo. From the Stadium of Fire concert featuring Journey (yeah, that Journey) on July 1st to the Balloon Fest to the Grand Parade on July 4th, billed as “the largest of its kind in the Western United States,” that is just a taste of this enormous regional festival.
Northern Utah
Logan Fireworks Show, Logan, July 3rd
Starting at 10pm on July 3rd in Willow Park, this fireworks display will light up the Northern Utah skies in Cache Valley.
Hyrum City’s Star-Spangled Celebration, Hyrum City, July 4th
This July 4th fest starts with the Blacksmith Fork Freedom Run at 7am. An afternoon parade will be followed by baseball, featuring the Hyrum Hornets against the Smithfield Blue Sox. Fireworks cap off the Celebration at 10pm.
Southern Utah
Brian Head 4th of July, Brian Head, July 4th
Celebrate Independence Day at Brian Head Resort. Enjoy the trail and mountain activities from 9:30am to 6pm, live music from 11 am to 8 pm. Artisan and beer vendors will set up on the mall. Food and beverage available until 9 pm. The entrance fee is $10/person.
Fourth of July Day at the Lake at Three Peaks Oasis, Cedar City, July 4th
The 4th of July Day at the Lake will begin at 10am at Three Peaks Oasis. Bring the family out to this free annual event, featuring a private lake, waterslide, zip line, sand volleyball, and other activities. Food will not be provided. So, pack a picnic lunch and plenty of water.
St. George 4th of July Celebration, St. George, June 30-July 4
Bring the whole family for this weekend extravaganza in Southern Utah! The entire event will take place at Town Square in St. George, including fireworks on July 4th at 10pm. Daily events include live music performances, food booths, contests, inflatables, games and races.
