Weekly Park Report
While we all wait for the snow to start piling up, why not check out the park? With recent temps in the 30's and 40's, it feels like spring already! Not a bad thing for all you park rats out there.
Parks Open: 1/2
While I haven't managed to get to Beaver Moutain yet (soon!), they do in fact have a park open for business. I dug up an old edit from Ride Utah last year to get an idea of what the parks were like...and if they're anything like they were last January, count me in!
Parks Open: 1/2
Brian Head's park crew has been doing an amazing job updating their facebook and posting new content for everyone to drool over. It looks like the park just keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to get back there and shred with the locals again, good times!
Parks Open: 3/4
Brighton has not 1, not 2, but 3 parks open...Wowee! Great job park crew. The best thing about Brighton is the variety and creativity of features. Every time I've been back to Brighton this season, there's something new. A half-pipe full of jibs? Yes, please. Night riding is also a huge bonus, I don't think I've ever had so much fun. Check out some edits from the 2011 season at Brighton. Lots of coverage (for very good reason). 'This Must Be The Place' put together the best edit of the season IMO. Holy hammers!
Also, check out the Stepchild rail jam on Saturday, January 7th @ 12pm. Free Entry, BBQ and tons of prizes.
Parks Open: 1/1
Canyons is super fun! I finally got a chance to ride there last week and was very impressed...a nice long line with 7 jumps and more rails, jibs & bonks than you can shake a stick at. Things are shaping up rather nicely at the Canyons...can't wait to see what they have in store for the rest of the season. Stay tuned for a Ride Utah edit in progress...
Parks Open: 3/4 (including the Eagle Superpipe)
Jeremy Cooper and his army of terrain park technicians have been hard at work keeping Three Kings, The Ridge and Eagle Superpipe in tip-top shape. Best parks in the world right now? That's no understatement. PC has the technology. Snow is being made on Kings Crown which hopefully means within a few weeks we'll have yet another park to enjoy. The second installment of the Friday Night Jib Fight series takes place this Friday, January 6th, next to Cobra Dogs (which will also be open!). There is a $15 entry fee and cash prizes for the winners. Jordan Morse will be there defending his title from the last Snowbasin stop. Do you have what it takes?
Parks Open: 2/2
PowMow has 2 parks, one for the beginner and one for your intermediate-advanced rider. I've heard very good things about PowMow from just about everybody, can't wait to check it out! Bonfire Lights Up the Night Jams at Powder Mountain. The first Night Jam is next Wednesday, January 4th. The jam will begin at 5pm in the Sundown Terrain Park. All ages are welcome and the event is free with a valid lift pass. Will you be there?
Parks Open: 2/3
Snowbasin puts together a solid park...tons of flow and creative features. Despite somewhat of a snow drought across Utah, the crew at Snowbasin has certainly made the best of what's available. Snowbasin will be hosting another Friday Night Jib Fights on January 13th. In the meantime, check out an edit of Nicky Keefer in the park from Saga Outerwear.
Parks Open: 1/1
While I wasn't able to find much park content for Sundance on the web, I do know that their park is open for night skiing & riding! This is the perfect opportunity for a park rat to investigate furthur...
Parks Open: 1/4
The lair is open! Things are looking pretty sweet up at Wolf Mountain w/ a few different rail selections to make any jibber jump for joy. Torpedo jib say what? I see a trip to Wolf in the near future. Yeehaw!
Until next time...stay wild!
