Where Do Kids Ski Free in Utah?

One of the questions I’m asked the most as a ski mom is, “Where can my kids ski for free?”

The good news is that there are several great places to ski with the children for free or at incredibly low prices that make it possible to have fun without breaking the bank. There are 15 ski resorts in Utah and here are our tips to help you save at each resort.

Alta Ski Area

When parents purchase a family pass, children under the age of six years old will get an unlimited ski pass for free. The family plan is a great option for those with multiple children under the age of six.

If your children are over the age of six, you can still save. Alta offers a season pass for those who have no problem starting their skiing sessions at 3:00 PM. Known by locals as “Sunnyside at Three”. The pass starting at just $19, making it a great selection for anyone with older kids who love to ski.

Beaver Mountain
Sign-up for a free five and under season pass before December 1 (must purchase a $5 RFID card). After December 1, child season pass prices increase to $100.

Brian Head Ski Resort
Children ten and under ski free with the Power Kids Pass (also valid at Nordic Valley in Utah!). Advanced registration is necessary. 

Brighton
Brighton offers free skiing opportunities to children under the age of 6 years old. Up to two children can ski for free if they have a paying adult accompanying them on the slopes. More information can be found here.

Cherry Peak
Children five and under ski free with a paying adult.

Park City Mountain
Offers five days of free skiing opportunities for children in grades K–5 as part of the Epic SchoolKids Utah Pack Program. 

Eagle Point
Children six and under ski free every day. More information here.

Nordic Valley 
Children ten and under ski free with the Power Kids Pass (also valid at Brian Head Resort in Utah). Advanced registration is necessary. 

Powder Mountain

Children six and under ski free every day on all chairlifts. Details here

Snowbasin Resort

Children four and under ski free. Lift ticket information can be found here.

Snowbird
Children six and under ski free during the day.

Solitude Mountain Resort
Children four and under ski for free! If you want to skip the ticket window and have your little one ski the the whole season, you can buy them a season pass for $29 + tax with a paying adult. This includes Ikon pass holders! Details here.

Sundance Mountain Resort
Children age five and under ski free. Details here

Woodward Park City
Children age four to six can get a membership for $70/month.

Utah’s 4t, 5th and 6th Passport Program   Children in either 4th, 5th or 6th grade can ski or ride at all 15 resorts in the state of Utah 3 times for only $49! Be sure to apply in advance!

Night skiing – Some resorts offer night skiing at rates discounted from day ticket rates. Make sure you bundle up.
