World Tour Semi Finals at Snowbird

By Tim Roberts Mar 9, 2007

Today was the semi final for the World Tour event at Snowbird. Because I didn’t get through the qualifier, I am now a spectator for the rest of the event. Although it’s disappointing not to be competing, it is still fun to drink a few beers while watching your buddies throw down. Throw down is what they did. About seven inches of snow the day before softened Silver Fox. Soft landings made for some big air. Skiers were hucking all the biggest cliffs on Silver Fox. I saw a few very creative lines that I hadn't noticed previously. Tonight there will be a significant cut before tomorrow’s final day. The final will host the best skiers form around the world throwing down on one the best venues in freeskiing. With new snow expected and wide-open terrain with big features, it promises to be a good show on North Baldy. Spectators can access the venue easily by riding the Tram or Peruvian Express, and cruising the groomer down to the finish area. Grab a cooler and a lawn chair and head over to Snowbird to watch it all go down.
